SIL Support Options
SIL supports may be provided in a participant’s own home through drop-in support or in one of our supported accommodation homes, depending on the person’s needs and funded supports.
Support options may include:
- 24/7 supported accommodation
- Overnight assistance or supervision where required
- High-intensity supported accommodation
- Support in shared living or individualised home environments
- Support linked with short term respite and medium term accommodation where appropriate
The NDIS currently refers to Short Term Accommodation as short term respite, and also funds Medium Term Accommodation as a separate home and living support. Medium Term Accommodation is generally for participants who are waiting to move into their longer-term home or for disability supports to be completed, and is usually funded for up to about 90 days.
